Celebrate Fall in LA
Since we explored our favorite fall event in Maine last week, it only seems fitting to share our favorite festivals in the LA area this week! Though fall in LA is nothing like being in New England, there are several festivals and events that will get you in that fall spirt!
Los Angeles Farmers Market Fall Festival (10/20-10/21):
If you are looking for a fun weekend activity for you and your kids, this fall celebration is for you! There is a petting zoo, Agventure Land with agricultural activities for kids, carnival games, live music, a gun show, craft demonstrations, and our world-famous pie-eating contest! Also, this year the LA Farmers Market will be showcasing the world’s largest potato (28' long, 12' wide, 11' tall and over 6 tons) you are not going to want to miss it!

Calabasas Pumpkin Festival (10/20-10/21):
Just around the corner from the Airelle Skin Headquarters, there is no shortage of pumpkins at this wonderful annual festival. With a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, pumpkin carving, pumpkin beer, and a pumpkin pavilion filled with all kinds of pumpkin goodies, you aren’t going to want to see another pumpkin again until next year! The festival is a weekend of family fun and celebrating the Calabasas community. There are plenty of carnival games to keep the kids busy while you enjoy the marketplace, car show, live entertainment, and the food, beer and wine garden.

There are actually 2 Oktoberfests in the greater Los Angeles area!
If you want to stay local, check out the Oktoberfest in Torrance at the Alpine Village (9/7- 10/27 weekends only)
Located in Torrance, Alpine Village is the home of the oldest and largest Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California. USA Today has also coined it “one of the best Oktoberfests in the world!” This event is all about celebrating the German culture and indulging in traditional German food, while enjoying the music, contests and sing-a-longs. If you are looking for a fun night out, Friday and Saturday nights are geared for the adult crowd with plenty of German beer to try! Sundays are family day. Bring your kids along to enjoy the kiddie jumpers, treats and games.

If you are looking to find some nature and local foliage, head up to 7700 altitude and check out the Big Bear Oktoberfest! It is happening for the entire month of October and is a great family event. Play some games, pet some animals, grab a braughtworst and sing along with the band! You may just run into someone from the Airelle team up there on a Saturday night enjoying some lager and doing the chicken dance!
