How to Make it Through Long Workdays

​Do you frequently find yourself waking up on the wrong side of the bed? Often looking for a pick-me-up in the middle of the day? Rough Morning?

If your morning has been anything but calm, it can put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. On your way out the door make yourself a quick banana-almond-flax smoothie. It’s easy to make and the bananas and nuts are proven stress-busters. 

Mid-day Crash?

If you are like me and you feel like you hit a wall around 4 pm everyday, skip the sugary snacks and look at how you can improve your lunch to give you energy to make it through the day. Try a beet, citrus, and avocado salad to get you through those long days. The folate in beets increase happiness, and the vitamin C from the citrus recharges the body. Wash your salad down with green tea and honey. The theanine will help reduce anger and improve concentration. Add a scoop of honey to reduce anxiety. 

Dragging Nights?

Long days at work can leave us completely drained of energy when we come home. Whip up some spaghetti with steamed mussels for dinner that will boost your mood and give you energy. Most shellfish is loaded with B vitamins, which is proven to boost your mood.
